About us

Giving Nature a Voice

Save the Bloom has been at the forefront of environmental preservation and ecological protection since our founding as a pioneering conservation organization in North America in 1866. For more than 150 years, we have been a leading force in sustainability and preservation, bringing the urgent need to protect our planet’s ecosystems to the forefront of public consciousness.

We’ve led the charge in combating environmental destruction, restoring natural habitats, promoting sustainable practices, and influencing major policy reforms that protect biodiversity and the health of our natural world—ultimately reshaping how society values and interacts with the environment.

The modern challenges facing our planet are vast and complex, but we confront them directly and with innovation—providing essential environmental education, responding to ecological disasters, developing sustainable restoration programs, conducting vital ecological research, training conservation professionals, and advocating for impactful environmental legislation. We also collaborate with and support local conservation groups, scientists, and eco-conscious communities that share our vision of a healthier, more harmonious planet.

Rather than operating a singular network of nature preserves or research centers, our role as a national organization—and as envisioned by our founder, Henry Bergh—is to support and empower a wide array of local partners, including restoration initiatives, environmental education centers, and grassroots advocacy efforts that are working to address the unique ecological needs of their regions. This collaborative approach allows us to rapidly scale solutions and respond swiftly to ecological emergencies nationwide.

Each year, our hands-on efforts directly benefit hundreds of thousands of natural spaces and species, with our broader initiatives touching the lives of millions more. Join us in shaping a brighter, more sustainable future for the planet. Together, we can make a lasting impact on the Earth and all who depend on it.

Caring for vulnerable animals and ensuring pets stay in safe, loving homes is a shared promise—one that calls on all of us. When we unite with kindness and purpose, we don’t just protect animals—we uplift our communities, nurture empathy, and help build a world where every creature is valued and safe.
